My point of view: How Indian Technology will boom due to G20?

India is currently the president of the G20, a group of the world's 20 largest economies. This gives us a unique opportunity to showcase our technological prowess on the global stage.

We have a strong track record in technology innovation. It is home to a large number of skilled engineers and scientists, and it has a thriving startup ecosystem. In recent years, India has also made significant investments in digital & space infrastructure. (UPI, Chandrayaan 3, Aditya L1)

The G20 presidency will provide a boost to India's technology sector in several ways.

  • It will attract more foreign investment in Indian tech companies.

  • It will create a platform for all Indian tech companies to collaborate with global partners.

  • It will help to raise India's profile as a global leader in technology.

As we all know:

  • India is home to the third-largest number of unicorns (startups valued at over $1 billion) in the world, after the United States and China.

  • The Indian government has set a target of making India a $5 trillion digital economy by 2025.

  • The Indian IT industry is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.5% to reach $350 billion by 2025.

The G20 presidency is a major opportunity for India to showcase its technological prowess and to attract investment and collaboration from global partners. This will help to accelerate the growth of India's technology sector and make India a major player in the global technology landscape.

Here are some of the specific areas where Indian technology is expected to boom in the coming years:

Where I believe, Indian technology is expected to boom in the coming years:

  • India is facing a growing threat from cyberattacks. The government is investing a lot in cybersecurity (600+ Crore Budget) to protect its critical infrastructure and businesses.

  • India is a leader in artificial intelligence research and development. The government has started many programs to promote AI, like the National Artificial Intelligence Mission.

  • India is also a big player in the blockchain space. The government believes in the potential of blockchain technology and has started many programs to promote its use.

  • India is one of the few countries in the world that is investing in quantum computing research. Quantum computing has the potential to change many industries, like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

The G20 presidency will help India grow these and other technology sectors. This will create jobs, boost the economy, and make India more competitive in the global economy.
